Shaping light No.3

Single projection interior installation, acrylic, mirror, wood

Dimensions: 2000cm H x 1500 W approx.

Shaping Light No.3 has been included in the British Glass Biennale and The Lumen Prize.

Operating at the interface of the digital and material, Shaping Light No.3 takes a psychogeographic journey through urban space. Ideas of self, space and place find new forms to inhabit, new ways of seeing and communicating the complexities of spatial experience.

A single moving image work animates a construction of mirrored planes, reflecting and refracting coloured light, fragments of time and space finding congruence through rhythm, colour and pattern. Urban space is re-written as a site and sight of curiosity and potential, where points collide to form multiple potential trajectories.

These works operate to separate the particular from the general using the figure/ground relation, articulating seemingly disparate and unconnected elements as forms and gestures, which, through configuration as artistic propositions, offer different ways of seeing and experiencing the countless elements of the world.
